Sweet Siblings

The other day Aunt Hannah taught Peter how to make a chain with little flowers from the pasture. He asked Juliana to close her eyes because he had a surprise for her.

Her eyes are closed. . .

She prefered a flower crown!

Water Fight!

How we keep cool on a hot day with no a/c! The older boy you see here is my brother-in-law, Daniel. He still enjoys playing with the kids.
Oh, and duck or you might get wet!

Juliana's 3rd Birthday

Happy birthday to my little princess. I pray she may grow in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and man.

She wanted icecream cones for her birthday. We had to have candles, though! It worked out fine.

The way Peter wears party hats!

Nathan gave Juliana fresh flowers in a box!

PINK snowpants!

Her own Starbucks coffee mug!

This is a great wood dollhouse (with wooden furniture and people) that I got off Craigslist.

4th of July

We spent Independence Day visiting my sister, Sarah, and her family in Bridgeport. This small mountain community puts on a real old-fashioned 4th of July celebration. The day begins with a parade and ends with an amazing fireworks show. Below are some pictures of a few things we did in between.

Nathan waiting for the parade to begin.

Practically every entry in the parade threw candy. At first Nathan thought he couldn't run out in the road (that's what we always tell him, right?), but he caught on pretty quick!

Kirk and Sarah's boys (Caleb and Jesse) in the wheelbarrow. Peter and Juliana walked the parade in their mountain men (or girl) costumes. This entry won the best children's costume trophy!

Hunt for money in the Haystack! That's Nathan!

Peter hunting for money in his age group

Lots of kids tried to climb the greased pole. It's a lot harder than it looks! The prize was over $300 cash which was collected by passing the hat through the audience!

In all, it was a huge celebration and the kids had a great time! We also celebrated my nephew, Caleb's, 3rd birthday as he is a fireworks baby!

Summer Fun!

It's been a busy summer so far with lots of work and lots of fun times. Here are a few of the fun moments we've had!
While my friend, Katrina, visited us at the end of June, we decided to try out the local miniature golf course. It was the first time the kids had played golf. As you can see, they had their own styles! It was an adventure, for sure.

Playing on the lake with Daddy!

Yes, that is Juliana kyaking! She was so careful to imitate Josh's every move.

Peter!

Juliana, expressing her own sense of fashion. (Yes, those are Nathan's swim trunks!)
