Having Fun!

Just a few fun snapshots of our days!

Yes, it is staged!

I love the pictures I find on my camera that the boys take when I'm not looking!

Juliana likes to play "hot dog"

Fishing with cousins!

Putting in the Garden

Last week we started putting in the garden. I'm not quite up to speed yet, so we do a little each day. Eventually, the large garden will all be planted! The weather on this day was delightfully warm and the kids all wanted to be working with me.

Nathan sorting seeds and figuring out what each package contains.

Juliana was delighted with her job of planting snow peas!

Peter taking his job very seriously!

Katherine "supervised". Actually, she was very contented to watch from her seat as long as she could see someone. Eventually, she just drifted off to sleep in the soft spring breeze!

Katherine's First Bath

Not sure who enjoyed the first real bath more--Juliana or Katherine! Juliana loves to help me give the baby a bath. It is the event she looks forward to each day. Actually, she does a pretty good job with the little things I give her to do. She can set up the bathtub and get all the things we need (soap, lotion, washcloths, diaper, etc.)

Getting so big already!

After bath time, it is Juliana's special delight to wring out the cloths, dump the water out of the tub, and clean up!

Big Sister!

Easter

Finally getting around to posting our family picture from Easter. Katherine is there with us, we just can't see her!! She was born 4 days later.

New Pet

Just a week after Katherine was born, we adopted another baby--squirrel to be exact. Peter rescued him from the cat, and apparently the baby squirrel had no injuries. It was probably 4-5 weeks old and did not have its eyes open yet. Josh did some research and found out how to care for the squirrel and taught the boys how to feed it with an eye dropper. Now its eyes are open and he is growing rapidly! It is teaching our kids some good responsibility because they have to feed it 3 times a day!

Model Rocket Project

One of the 4-H projects the boys signed up for this year was rocketry. A kind man donated some extra-large rockets for the kids to use. Even though they weren't beginner projects, Josh decided to have the boys build one of the big rockets. We documented their project. Enjoy!

Nathan working on the fins

Juliana really wanted to get in on the action!

Peter's hair has that "mad scientist" look!!

Launch day!

Seeing the boys hold the rockets gives you an idea of the size. We had to buy special engines to get these big boys off the ground!

Peter's "Big Daddy"!
Launch day was eventful. A slight breeze cause both rockets to drift and get lost after launch. Nathan's rocket was recovered, but Peter's is still at large. So if you are out walking along Rattlesnake Road and see a large, bright blue rocket on the ground, he'd like it back!

Space Museum Field Trip

About a month or so ago, we took a field trip to a small discovery museum in Sacramento. While the displays were not amazing, it was just about right for our kids and they enjoyed the hands-on displays. We had fun taking some pictures while there.

Juliana loved dressing up in the astronaut suits!

And she wanted everyone to see the cool rocket backpack she had on!

Learning about minerals found on various planets.

And even Peter dressed up, after some convincing!

Have you seen these space critters before?

More Katherine

Just a few minutes old! Daddy and his new little girl

Weighing in. She didn't seem to mind the scale at all!

Our four precious blessings!

The kids were able to come see Katherine when she was just a couple of hours old. Below are their expressions when they first met her and held her in their arms!

Juliana couldn't take her hands or eyes off her new little sister she had waited so long to meet!

Nathan has a soft spot in his heart for the little babies!

Those of you who know our Peter, know he doesn't sit still for very long at a time. He sat for at least 10 minutes just staring at Katherine and checking out her tiny hands and feet. Doesn't he have the sweetest face as he shows off his sister?

Coming home.
Katherine wore one of my sleepers from when I(Christina) was an infant. It was the only thing warm enough and small enough that we could find at the time! Thanks for sharing this outfit with me, Mom!

Welcome Katherine!

We joyfully welcomed

Katherine Fayrene Ramey

on Thursday, April 28, 2011.

She was born at 6:54 a.m.

6 lb, 8 oz; 20" long

At 2.5 weeks weeks early, we were caught by surprise when Katherine decided to make her entrance. We praise the Lord for a safe, uneventful, and easy delivery. She was born 6 hours after my water broke!

Here are some pictures of Katherine at 1 day old. More pictures will be coming as I have time. She is 1 week old now and I am beginning to resume more activities each day!

Sweet baby feet!

Yes, she is smiling! She has the most adorable newborn smile I have ever seen! Can't wait until she smiles knowingly.
